About
Drive is a performance about a power of intuition. Not intuition as knowledge, but about intuition in the area of natural talents, which examine a thin boarder between pain and passion. It shows an examination of sounds from woman’s and man’s past and memories. It answers, how does the pleasure of today feeds on the memories of yesterday’s pains. It synthesizes the blocks of physical mental states, which are marked by time: where the past, the future and the present are changed by places. It follows the alienation of the sounds of desire. It stands in two constantly variable fields of physical and psychical thoughts and express the perception of imagination, which works as a survival instinct.
The essential place is a place of essential body, which appears as a woman’s lace, made by pvc. Thought the laces decants the heroine’s travel, which seems as a Bulgakov’s description in Master and Margarethe, when heroine walks thought the sky as a rejuvenated witch. Theater is presented as empty, ventilated place, which vibrates with actress’ appearance, where each place, movement and gesture gets the meaning, The place vibrates with the sound of the memory and by the light and video, which reflect the memories. Actress’ space virtually doesn’t serve any furniture. Each of the objects is exactly determined and stands to underline the actress’ thought of gestures and movements.
The actress moves on the fields of emotions thought the density of the places, signs and forms.
The theater piece is inspired by Orlando by Virginia Woolf, Invisible cities by Italo Calvino and Frauen in “der europaischen Geschichte” by Gisela Bock.
